no i did'nt use the new tank. i did'nt see a need for it, just for the fact that im only drag racing it. if u r going to trail ride it, i would get the new tank. ok this is how i set mine up. i bought the stock 08 front fender bracket,as u can see under the hood. so that i had somthing to attach the front fenders and hood to. it bolts right on above the front shocks, in place of your old L brackets. I did have to weld 2 tabs on the sub frame.so i could bolt on the rear fenders. (This should be done after u get the rear fenders, so u can figure out just where to weld the tabs on) As far as the seat goes, you will have to buy the seat latch for the 08. But it bolts right in the spot of the old 1. you should not have to re-locate your battery. i just wanted to clean up the left side a little. I'm running a 1999 frame. As far as price goes,, Well i work at a honda shop so i got my stuff at cost. here are some prices. I hope this helps.

tank cover 12.00
Hood 10.58
front fender stay 37.29
gas tank 69.40
rear wings 15.87
rear fenders 171.50
seat 98.91
seat latch parts 27.70

What did you use to relocate the Battery and are you using a air box?

I built the battery brackets in my subframe. I like the clean look. and i'm not running an air box. <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.tinypic.com/15wh3x0.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

What is the difference between the old and the new tank? Why would you swap it if you where going trailriding?
