Im pretty sure a few years back yamaha was testing a 2wd dirt bike, the front fire was moved by some type of oil or liquid,it just gave the front tire a bit more power for mud and stuff, obv it never made it to production though haha

I saw that too. I think it was hydraulic powered.

Growing up, my father had one of these bad boys. Notice the large front chain drive (the rear chain is on the opposite side out of view). 2WD, with a low range, that thing could climb anything.

But heavy. The brochure lists it as 200lbs, but I don't think so. I remember that beast being really heavy, I bet it was closer to 300lbs.

Check out the ROKON website. They look pretty unique ;) . I especially like the agriculture accessories they have, haha. You can also fill the rims with extra fluid (gas, water, etc) so I bet that'd made it heavy!!

it was a hydraulic system, and it was on a yz450f i believe. i read about it in dirt bike magazine.

the christini 2wd system was on a crf 250 in mxa a yr or two back

It's hydraulically powered. The front tire engages every time it senses the rear wheel spinning.... which is basically all the time. Pretty neat setups. I just read a long term test about it in dirt rider on their CRF250 I think.

my local dealer rermotorcity sells them... they ride amazing...he actually just sold like 500 to the military. its a chain drive setup going up into the frame, then it has a shaft that runs into the stem which turns a spider gear which turns another spider gear connected to the drive shafts that go down each side of the forks into the hub. It works great in all terrain, i've actually helped build one.
