Less then a month to go before our biggest weekend of the year. July 4th weekend we have some great events planned.

Friday July 4th we will have a free cook out at the dining hall, we encourage everyone to bring a dish. Salads, deserts etc...

Saturday July 5th we will have a mud Bog Race. The pit this year will be wide enough to line up 10 to 15 riders. The first one across the finish line wins. We'll be running bikes and quads. We will give out t-shirts and door prizes to all entrants. Entry is free!!

Saturday Night we will light up the Flag Jump on the big track and have a FREESTYLE CONTEST. Entry is $10 per rider, we'll have door prizes and plaques for the winners. The flag jump will get a new "bigger Lip" and a taller landing ramp for the freestyle show.

Sunday is our long awaited 3rd annual "QUAD PULLED - COUCH RACE". The winning team will get a trophy and a 3 month membership to the Breezewood Proving Grounds. The only rules for building a couch for the race is that you can not add wheels to the couch, and your couch has to be at least a two seater(love seat). We will also have awards for the best looking couch and most creative. This is a must see event. This year the race will be on parts of the intermediate track and we will run at least 4 couches at a time. Get those couches ready NOW !!

So lets hear who's planning to be here???

Nice pix Dan. If it gets to expensive (to late - already paying $300 in fuel round trip to the Gounds) maybe I can add to the cabin tower to save on dragging that Adrenaline Hauler back & 4th. All of the Sunco crew will be there. Thanx for having the party at your place:devil:

Glad to hear you'll be making the long trip again Don. Is the Rich Carpenter coming with you guys??

I almost forgot to mention we are renting one of those big moon bounces for the kids to play in. It will be set up outside the dining hall by the volley ball field. The little ones should love that.

Awesome Job at the Nat's Ant. Cool seeing you on the podium in the Breezewood Shirt >>(even if it was pink???)

Killer sky shot. Damn you must be 30-40 feet in the air. Looks like fun.

Looking forward to riding with you Landon, and you too nick and don and zach. My rings went up in the 450, having it rebuilt next week so it will be fresh for the 4th. Won't give me much time to practice new tricks. Plan on building up the flag jump this coming week, making the landing ramp 5' higher and farther along with a bigger takeoff lip.

The mud bog will be saturday at 3pm! We'll have a class for 2wd quads, 4wd quads and then one for BIKES !!

The Freestyle contest will be Saturday Night at 9pm on the big track under the Lights.

Free cook out 1pm Friday at the dining hall.

KIDS MOON BOUNCE WILL BE SET UP AT THE DINING HALL ALL WEEKEND LONG FOR THE KIDS.

Ya I will definitely be there.

If Sonya behaves herself, I will let her come too. She got herself a TTR 125 to ride down there.

Still workin on gettin a couch, but gonna strap it on the van when i get it - not gonna use the sunrise trailer -thanx tho

I look forward to seeing everyone and tryin hard to defend the crown in the couch race. It's gonna be an entirely new race being on the intermediate track this year.

It's gonna be a great time!

To whom ever asked about the LTR blown up, The clutch plates actually came loose and were clacking around. I got it back the day before breezewood May 23-25. Well the dip sticks who put it back together never put a new gasket on so it leaked oil the whole weekend. I just kept adding oil, once im at breezewood im not leaving, lol. Well the last 2 hours i was there i heard this loud clinging and clacking noise again. Took it home then, it wouldnt even start now so i took it to the dealer. Apparently dirt got in the engine, idk how, screwed up the valves and the fork in my tranny bent. Still no clue how that happened. Just bad luck i guess..but it will be back before then!

Ernie Bolden from FINAL TOUCH RESTYLING has donated 3 foot tall trophies for the Couch race winners and the Freestyle contest winners. Rich your gonna have some stiff competition this year.

Remember to make your couch durable - the course is on part of the intermediate track this year??!!!

Congradulations to Sonya on the TTR125 they are great bikes. Take it easy on her Rich - I know how competitive you are - don't be running her off the track her first day.

Hey Pappy it will be good to see you at the proving grounds. It has been a long while since I saw you and the family. I have been really busy here and haven't been on line as much as I used to be.

On a side note- the old root cellar I mentioned on the other thread is no longer there. They filled it in years ago. :ermm:

Anyway- stay well and see ya soon.

Hey Pappy,

Looking forward to seeing you, Bridgette, Cody and Ryan at the park. I know you been busy with covering the races but everyone has missed you guys here.

....Is Cody riding again yet??

Will you be at the GNCC this weekend rooting your brother on?

See you guys on the 4th or before if you can make it.

Pappy
06-19-2008, 10:56 AM
Nope, Cody as roughly 6 more weeks before he can ride again, 1 more until they will allow him to put weight on the leg. The bone is fine, they are allowing teh cartlidge to fully solidfy etc.

Yep, I will be covering the GNCC in Yadkinville NC on saturday and then leaving for Tennessee to cover the Pro race at Muddy Creek on sunday.

I will be cheering for him, and I will throw rocks at him if I dont think he is going fast enough

Six more weeks, man thats gotta be killin' him. He better watch out Ryan will be catching up to him with long breaks off like that.

.....On another note: When are we going to set up an Atv riders dot com weekend at the park??? I don't know everyone elses schedules but anytime is good for us to have a park full of quads.

I will double check my schedule, but possibly the 26-27th of July. Id like to get Harlen up as well, as he has been riding either a chair or an airplane and not enough quad seat!!! I dont think he has what it takes to jump anymore:devil: If that weekend looks good, let me know and I will start getting it together.

Yeah the down time is murder, on all of us. Without riding Cody is a real teenager with an attitude:mad: I make him pump weights all day but that just makes him a stronger...pig headed peckerhead...LMFAO! He has a brand new quad sitting here that all he can do is look at and all these models here for us to test ride that he cant do spit with haha! I feel real sorry for them when he is cleared to ride:chinese:

Hey Dan-

Got any other info about the couch race?

Are there gonna be obstacles?

Is it gonna be on the rhythm track? Jumps? What's the deal?

I got a couch promised to me, but not going to have much time to get it ready so I could use some info since I'm way the heck out here in Jersey.

Sonya and I are heading down that Thursday so I'll be happy to help you get stuff ready if you need me.

Keep a spot for me where we were last time if you can.

Thanks

The couch race will be off the hook this year. I've had about a dozen calls from people planning on buiding a couch for the race. Were gonna run on the intermediate track. Starting in the middle by the bleachers, will run 4 to 6 couches at a time. There will be option lines for passing and a mud section along with a single jump. Should be very interesting.

Ernie Bolden is supplying 3 foot trophies for the couch race winners and the proving grounds is giving a 3 month membership to the winning team. Should be a heated battle.

We just had a Cabin Rental Cancellation for the July 4th weekend and now the RUSTIC CABIN IS AVAILABLE. You need a minimum of 4 riders for this cabin. The price is $120 per rider and that includes the cabin and your riding fee's for all three days (Friday-Saturday and Sunday). Anyone interested should email me at Breezewoodprovinggrounds@yahoo.com

For the couch race - the only real rule is your not aloud to add wheels to the couch and it must be pulled by a quad. Most people add some type of skid plate to keep the couch from digging into the dirt. Car hoods seem to work really well. Plywood will do the job. Our first year a team one on a bone stock couch. Wow that sounds funny - someday we may have classes; "stock couch" Modified couch and super modified??

Yeah I picked up two couches last night and they are both used and pretty vile ! The one me and Flyboy are using looks like they were pouring coffee all over the back of it. ACK !:( It's pretty gross.

I think I'll look into a car hood and see if I can get one this weekend. I'm thinking this year getting the hole shot and hogging up the track isn't going to be enough to defend the title.

Thanks for the info Dan- Sonya and I are looking forward to getting down there to see everyone and have yet another fantastic weekend at our home away from home !!

The freestyle contest is gonna be off the hook !! Totally fun for everyone the riders and the fans. This is a great chance to ride part of the track AT NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS. Sign up is only $10 and you get 5 jumps under the lights. Winnder gets a 4 foot trophy. Its all about the fun so even if you have no big tricks its still fun to hit the jump under the lights in front of the crowd - so make sure you SIGN UP !!! ...Don't be telling me afterwards you wish you had. Made it down yesterday for the day. Had a great time, and there was a lot of people. a lot of fast quad guys and girls (k winters was tearin it up!) The intermediate track was the place to be, with the bleachers full all day, and some cool tricks off the bleacher triple. Barely anyone rode on the big track all day. Also got to try out my new motowoz front shocks, they are awesome. coming from a hybrid with a protrax front end and pep zps long travel , i thought it would be a step down, but i can say they felt a whole lot better than anything i have ever owned or rode. I would recommend them to anyone. Hope to see some pics on here soon because there was a lot of people snapping pics!

The Mud bog race was also killer. We ran everybody at one time through the mud. It made for a great spectator event.

You can't see in the pics I have, but Kevin (kh426) was standing on the side line with a water pump spraying muddy water all over the riders while they race.

Even the kids had a good time playing in the mud.
