brake prob?

i just bought a new to me xt600, the rear brakes have a prob? they work, but you have to push the lever all-the-way down? i tryed bleeding them, with no results, they have new pads, but they arn't touching the disk? so my question is, is it the caliper or the master cylinder? much help apprecated

Sounds like to me you need to rebuild the caliper. Put new seals in and grease everything up, and you should be good to go.

i found the prob, the slider on the inside is broke, binding up the caliper, thanks
