What is it supposed to be?
I have a set of Axis that came off a LT250 and I think they are about an inch too short. It feels great sitting on it but the front end looks pretty low.

I read on another thread that they are supposed to be 16 1/2 eye to eye. These are only 15 inches apiece.

That is correct, 16.5" is the standard travel length eye to eye.

So will it affect anything adversely, handling wise?
I think it feels comfortable, but it is a little low in the front. If I could get the back end about an inch lower it would be completely even.
Suggestions?
I sold my other shocks to buy these and they have already sent off. I could sell them but I don't know how high demand is for a LT250 shock. Probably little to none. They would probably be great for a 300EX though.
I would like to keep them. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

the preload setting is to low see it you can more it up to 16 1/2

How do I adjust it?
There are grooves in the gray part on the top that the little gold ring that holds the preload spring could go into but I don't know how to get it to move. Is there a trick? I went out there and tried to turn it, it wouldn't turn.

maybe your shocks are setup for zero preload
when you buy used get all the facts makes everything easier in the end
I think you can send them out to get longer shafts and serviced for your style of riding and weight

With stock length shocks, they are to make it sit like it is sitting right now.

No they're for an LT250. They are shorter than a TRX shock, apparently by two inches.
Also, my PM's are now emptied. If you are interested in buying them warriorman you will have to give me an offer, but I will need at least enough to get another set of good TRX shocks after the deal is over with.
What are these shocks worth?
