You'll see a good increase.

Since you are getting a Cam and 11:1 piston, I'd look at sending the head off to get, a fairly inexpensive, mild port job to finish it out.

I think(and I am sure Bwamos will agree) that the rev box is a dump idea. The 300ex makes almost all of its power well beyond the stock limiter. I raced a 300 and i can only remember a handful of times that i hit the rev limiter. Plus, the big guns are known to cause starting problems if your battery isnt 100% charged. I wouldnt get it. Spend the extra $125 you will save on a port job

I agree and disagree.

I beleive sending the stock box off to get it modified for an additional 1000rpm or so is very very worthwhile.

In an open field section between wooded sectcions where you can top it out it is very easy to hit your stock rev limit. You may not be making peak power, but you are still making enough power to slowly accelerate beyond that point. I'll pull away from those who do not have modified rev boxes and enter the next section before they do. And, often that's the only decent place to pass.

The 11:1 will have a more noticable "pop". Higher pressure.. more bang.
