All measurements are take from the wheel side of the hub.

The first number(3") is the measurement from the hub to where the tire bead seats on the inside of the wheel.

The second number(6") is just the opposite. This is the measurement to the bead on the outside of the wheel.

4+5 is closest to stock wheel offset.

so why get a wider axle, when the same can be accomplished with wheel offset??

just a debate I've been having with another rider, and wondering other opinions

I believe 3+2 is stock on fronts 4+1 narrows it up

I copied/pasted this from one of my previous posts:

Alright, I finally got the wheel measurements. They should be really close even though my Hipers still had tires on them.

Wheel offsets are expressed inside depth + outside depth in that order measured from the hub side of the wheel to where the bead seats.

Stock wheels:

10x5.5" wheel
3 3/4 + 1 3/4 offset

Hipers(marketed as a 4+1):

10x5" wheel
3 5/8 + 1 3/8" offset

If Im thinking correctly and the 1 is the amount of backspace, wouldnt a 4+1 make the front wider?

no its the other way, only 1" sticking out. allows you to run +3 arm, but still keep the 50" max width for ATVA rules...

I see so its 4" of backspace. Thanks for the correction.
