You are asking questions that have been answered time and time again in literally hundreds of old threads. Use the search feature and you will find most all of the answers to your common questions. You are getting upset because people don't respond right away. I think members just get tired of answering them over, and over, and over again.

I personally am getting tired of hearing people whine about duplicate threads, if I see one I don't want to read....I DON'T READ IT!!!!

I have the Insane Performance airbox and I like it. It was cheaper than a lot of airboxes I've saw and is made out of thick material. It houses your batter and stuff everything but the rectifier.
They can be found here

does the cfm one have anything to mount over it or something?
or is it just an open design with no protection?

im very interested in gettin that one i love how it looks and how it houses everything but..im not sure i want to rejet or have no protection..

i dont really ride in mud/water but that doesnt mean i wont ..

I'm not sure about that airbox but mine it says you should rejet but I didn't and it runs just as good as when I had the stock airbox.

The CFM is awesome. Very VERY well made too. I bought the one with the lid and really like it. I put a KN filter with a outerwears in the airbox and rejetted to a 152 main. My 400 runs great now. I also put a 13 tooth front sprocket (my 400ex is a 2005) and that made one heck of a difference on the trails. It did drop topend a couple mph but I figure hitting a tree at 68-70 would still hurt like hell right?

EBAY item number: 250256544237 is the CFM w/lid. it uses the stock snorkel tube.

i put it on and took off the battery mounts. tight squeeze though..
