I'm posting this here cause i'm getting no inpout in the under 90cc forum.

What's anyone doing to modify/strengthen these kickstarters on the etons. I know they claim to be emergency starters, and you should use the starter. But when you get rid of the starter , there's got to be a bettr way.

Before I rip it apart and redesign it, anyone have any good fixes for the strippage and skipping that occurs inside? Every eton i've had or have been involved with has an issue with missing/stripping, and the return spring not returning.

Anyone else run into this ?

Take the cover off then take the lever off and lube it all and clean it then get a good kick start lever

Thanx for the reply. I've done both of those but still had issues. I replace all soft washers with hardened ones and resize the thickness. Got some hardened bushing and tightened up the tolerances as well. I also deepened the clip groove and replaced with smaller i.d. clip. So far so good. Alot smoother and was able to lighten the return spring pressure due to less friction. Hope it holds out !!
