new 440 purchase questions

Hey guys, I just bought my first 400.... a 440 big bore. Motor has a tick, which i was attributing to a few possible things, having read these boards.

I knew it had an exhaust leak right at the head.... fixed that, still ticks.

Checked and made slight valve adjustments..... still ticks.

So my last thought is either the cam chain... or I have bigger issues.

While changed the exhaust gaskets, i found oil on the front of the cylinder. AFter working on it for a few hours last night, i took her out for really my first ride other than up and down the guys road. After a 5 minute ride I confirmed my thoughts. The gasket for the 2 piece jug is leaking bad.

So I'm going to dig into this motor and take a look see. A lot of people have said depending on what cam is in the bike, it'll always tick.

So I have a few questions....

What cams will tick?
Is the crf450 cam chain that everyone speaks of the same as the "heavy duty" ones I see on ebay?
Since I'll be in there, what recommendation do you have for me while the motor is opened up?

Any gasket brands of choice other than the norm?

im running stock cam chain with a 440 kit. no problems. check and see if it has hd head studs, im not sure on gasket brands but someone should know?
