Honda 450r Power increase

Can anybody help us. My son's 450r is in need of a power boost. The problem is we are on a limited budget and wondering if any one can offer some suggestions.

I was told if we drop a CRF 450 cam and cdi box it will improve the bottom end power. We already have a full DMC exhaust which helped a little but still need a little more power.

Do you want just low end power........just drop a tooth on the front sprocket. Cams are a great way to gain power on the 450rs as well.

IMO a Cam is the biggest boost besides head porting.

For low end/mid range I'd recommend an CRF 02/03 cam or a Hotcams S2 for more top.

What year is the bike?
