Personally I say stick with Honda GN4. Honda makes it and they must think that it is doing some good by running that type of oil.

Or you could always run some race oil. Like Maxima or Mobil 1.

I am just fine with my Honda oil. Works great for me.

your quad should be fine with honda oil. you'll see no improvement in power and your quads no really gonna blow up if you run normal oil. so i say stick with what best suits your wallet. and what the hecks a potato stick?

I run Amsoil synthetic. I read in a late issue of one of the mags...(atv sport or Dirtwheels)....that one tuner suggested synthetics dont break down near as easily as a normal oil. He also said synthetics dont have the additives to protect the cam lobes. Its also mentioned that a full synthetic oil can cause the clutch to slip.

I run Honda synthetic, in the gold bottle, in my 400. About the only reason is because we took a race car engine to a dyno, brought synthetic oil and regular oil, and, on a 485hp engine, the difference was 38HP. That is enough for me, but I dont know about you.

Alky,

My GN made 5 extra HP at redline with Castrol Synthetic.

I'm a little confused, did the synthetic or the non synthetic make more?

EDIT: Nevermind, your GN is a Grand National right?

i use mobil 1 15w50 synthetic and its great. 86ATC250R will make anyone wanna use it and how its not bad to use from all the info he gives out and the amount of people that use it. Also i forgot who but a pro with a full sparks engine uses it and i think sparks knows what hes doin.
