I'm a new owner of a 2001 400ex....In checking it over, I noticed that there are no zerk fittings on the suspension and ball joints. Is there anything that needs to done to lube them.....some of them make creaking noises.

thanks

what ya need to do is to pull the front end down and inspect, clean and grease things. if ya wanting to grease the ball joints you will need to use a needle for a grease gun.

lol!! there is a process of which you can add zerks to the a-arm bushings and ball joints which requires the correct tools and all. i've done this mod to the bushings but i havent ever attempted to do the ball joints.

Definately pull the bolts, clean and lube. Most people never do it so I would say it has not been done and most use a pressure washer to clean which will get water in the seals. Might want to check the swingarm bolt as well. If it wears a groove and can be very difficult to replace. oh and rear shock linkage.
