HEY CAN SOME ONE HELP WITH SETTING UP A 400 EX I PICKED UP. WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR IS A RELIABLE SET UP THAT WON'T HAVE TO BE WORKED ON ALL THE TIME. THE QUAD WILL NOT BE RACED BUT PROBABLY RODE PRETTY HARD. WHAT MOTOR KIT, PIPE, JETTING, SPROCKETS, EXC ARE WORKING THE BEST OUT THERE.

Bore- 416
Compression- 11.1
Porting
HotCams Stage 2
04-05 FCR 450r carb

Full Exhaust (Curtis Sparks, DMC, HMF, Yoshimura, basically personal preference, but these are my favorites.)
ProDesign Dual-Stage foam filter

Stock sprockets

I don't know what kind of money you have, but this setup is probably the best for you.
I also recomend front shocks if you plan on riding hard. Maybe some dual-rate elkas, or revalved 450r's.

What kind of budget are you looking at?

I went Gibson long travel with Axis shocks. Not real cheap but they are great.
You can get an ajdustable rear axle from rocky mountain for like 200$ It's a nice feeling being wider in the hard corners.
My motor I did the 440, full port and polish with a stage 2 cam, ported the oem carb (450r carbs were not available yet) valves cut. I got a hook up from an old factory honda guy so couldn't tell ya what it would cost to do.
Its been super reliable for 6 yrs now with minimal valve adjustments.

My 440 stroker has been rock solid for over 2 years now. Check out www.powroll.com, killer setup, a lot of power and no sacrifice in reliability.
