What kind of handlebars should I get? My Renthals broke in two pieces, and I only have $100 bucks. Help please?

TAG T2 seem to be really popular as well as the ProTaper Contour. If $100 was my budget I would deffinately get either of those.

I have the TAG T2.

They're strong as hell!:eek2: When the bike was rolled, the steering stem was bent to hell but the bars were still like new, not the slightest tweak..

But that being said, they're WAY to low for my taste. I have the adapters that also raise it up some, but still too low for my taste. Im looking into some rox risers.

Strength: *****

Looks: ****

Feel: ** (w/o risers)

i have renthal standards on mine and they do great. especially for just 60 bucks. my quads been rolled twice with these on and they still arent bent. its always the steering stem that gives.

pro tapers and mounts from gopartsdirect.com get it all for around $90. Love my tapers have been running em since 98 on my rm strong as hell. I went with mids and I'm 6'2". Their not that low I can still stand up 95% straight up comfortably.

I have ordered from them twice and they take a long time to ship, even though I'm close.

if an aftermarket stem is purchased will it still bend? I rather buy a plus 1 stem and replace the bars with cheap ones than have to keep replacing stems. I dont roll my quad very often but the times I have the stock bars and stem held up no bends at all

X2....go with some 1 1/8" tapered bars. You won't ever want to go back to standard 7/8" bars. They have a lot more flex to them which makes them more forgiving, plus they're extremely strong.

I have an old set of T2's that I bought used from a friend. Both him and I have rolled 2 different quads on the same bars and they're still straight as can be. I run FLY Aerotapered 1 1/8" bars now and they're just as nice as the TAG's.

Make sure you study some bar charts like on ProTaper's or TAG's websites. It will help you pick out the best bend for you. Too many people settle for cookie cutter bends when they can get something a lot more customized and better fitting.

They are high up because I'm tall. That way I can stand up all the way without a crick in my back.
