Who's done this and was it worth it? Tell me all of the pros and cons of doing this mod to my buddies 450r?

Thanks, Michael

I would go with a CRF FCR carb if you were looking to upgrade.

I think others will tell you the same

So where's the best place and how much for it? How many MM are these CRF FCR carbs? Do they just bolt right up or is there and thing else you might need?

Thanks, Michael

So I'm guessing that you have it on your 450r now, how does it compair to the stock FRC carb? How many MM is your edelbrock?

you mean Edelbrock actually make a carb worth paying for? Thier automotive carbs are JUNK.

i would also say that the CRF FCR is the BEST carb available for 450rs, you can bore them out as well to make them 43mm, and the crfs are 40mm but make more HP than the stock 42mm.

Where is the beat place to buy them? Who does the bore job on them? Can they be bought with this bore job to make them a 43mm all in one shot? Where can you just get a stock on for my 400ex, or do they not work on them too?

Thanks, Michael

chad from DRG can get one for you, bore and then send it to you, but if your putting one on a 400ex i wouldnt do it, it would be around 800 dollars to do it all. you can get a stock 400ex one from service honda for about 110, but if i was you i would just buy a new one from a 04/05 450r and put it on your 400ex, they run about 140 from service honda. i may be parting out my 05 450r so if you need a excellent condition carb i may sell mine, but i do not know for sure i am going to part it out, but i will in a few days.
