yfz450 shocks in 400ex??

i heard somebody had this mod in his quad. can anyone helpme with this. what mod did they do to fit them?

I did this mod to my machine. The way I did it was to slightly widen the upper shock mount first so that I didnt have to shave as much off of the the shock. Then I shaved the upper mount of the shock itself almost 1/4 of an inch to get them in there. Also I had to grind down the outter edge of the mount on the machine to be sure that I had full clearance when the shocks moved. I do not have any pics right now though sorry. If I were to make a recommendation, I would go with the 450r shocks instead. Much less moddding to make them fit. My yfz shocks were free so it made my decision easy.

that why im asking bc i got them for free. with what did u grinded the shock?

my advice is to sell them and put a honda part on a honda machine. Get some trx450r shocks if you want an upgrade.
