Now, back to the question! I think that the z400, or the kfx400 r the better buy. The kfx and the z are the exact same except for the color difference. They will beat a 400ex, and in my OPINON the z400 is what i would get because i've really never had a good kawasaki atv. So the z-400 is the best but if u like green, get the kfx!

Well lets see..............you can get a 400ex for about 1000 dollers less then a Z-400 or the kfx........if you got a 400ex and put that 1000 into it, then you would definatly have a way better quad then a z or kfx.

Not downing the Ex but he said nothing about money...if that was the case you could get a 250r for about 3000 and put about 1000 in it and smoke both with money left over. JMO

Well I have to agree with everyone else, The LTZ or KFX would be a better choice. The suspenion is really good on them and they have alittle more travel then the 400ex. The handling on the ltz400 is better. The ltz/kfx is more powerfull and more of a 2-stroke response. I like the T-shape seat but its up to you on that one.

In some places you can find the 400ex now for 1,000 dollars cheeper so I would go with that. The 400ex and the ltz/kfx are very similar just the Z would be more competitive in racing.

if i were to buy a new quad it would be the kxf. Kawisaki offers more race support and even tho they are to get parts for you can just get them at a suzuki dealer cause they are interchangable. the frame on the kfx is a suzuki it says it right on the frame under the motor. so yea the kuckasucka :blah

In north Carolina you can buy a 400ex brand new out the door taxes and everything for $4399.00

I think one of the most overlooked aspects of buying a new quad is the local dealer. You have to ask yourself who you would rather deal with. In my neck of the woods the Kawasaki/Suzuki dealer is awfull. I haved tried numerous times to buy new bikes and various parts from them and found they are not very honest...so I went with the 02 400EX at the local Honda dealer. $1000 off and 4.9% financing. I can go in there any day they are open and get 20% off any part because I bought the quad from them. I have been very happy with the support after the sale. Let's face it, the Z400 is probably a great quad but it is still not a Honda. ;)
