Hi,
I am looking forward to clean my tranmission gears before putting them in back. What stuff would you use?
Thanks in advance.

Ive used everything. Gas, brake cleaner, carb cleaner, etc. Just make sure if you use those types of cleaners to lube the parts with something like wd-40 to keep them from rusting.

Thank you, I will try brake cleaner and then put some wd40 on crankcase's bearings.

Its a thin greas that you apply to parts while you assemble it. It keeps the parts lubricated until oil can get to them so you dont have a dry start. You can get it at any auto parts store.

ya I myself use belray assembly lube but any assembly lube will work, just liberally apply it to any wear points on sprokets gears and sliders.

As far as cleaning, I use this stuff my old man gets at work called ID Red. Stuff works like a charm and will clean ANYTHING off of EVERYTHING.
