what is the specs on tightning the head bolts on 2001 300ex? any help will be great thanks

The head cover bolts are 7ft-lbs and you'll have a singl smaller on eup front near the exhaust that will be 4 or 5 ft-lbs.

The BIG head bolts the bolt the head down to the cylinder are 17 ft-lbs.

Be sure to use an in-lb torque wrench on the head cover bolts. fl-lb torque wrenches aren't that accurate that low.

7 ft-lbs = 84 in-lbs
5 ft-lbs = 60 in-lbs
4 ft-lbs = 48 in-lbs

Dont go to tight on the head cover bolts. The heads will twist right off. Great quads, crappy bolts.. lol.

thanks so much now i just gotta get the oil bolt that lets head get oil and be on my way of working :)
