Heres some pics of the new ride i have. Does the head on the engine look stock? Looks after market to me. I can't tell.

it might have some motor work to it it looks like the guy beadblasted the head the only way to find if there is something aftermarket is to take it apart and look for yourself

Ya, I found out it has a high compression piston (which might explain why its a bitc* to start) I listed the confirmed mods in my signtature though...........

It almost looks like a 400Ex head. But maybe a 350x.

Nope, its neither of those. The 400ex Spark Plug isn't on the side, and it has two exhaust ports. The 350X has a pipe like the 400, two exhaust ports.

looks stock to me. it may have porting mods or something but you cant tell unless you take it apart. i dont think aftermarket heads are made for 300ex, or any other 4 stroke quad for that matter.

But 250x have hotter cams and shorter strokles to make em faster :blah

Hmmm... It has two exhuast ports. One has been "blocked" off though. I know it sounds wierd but theres like a little plate that is on the front of the head. I'll get picks ASAP, wierdest thing i've ever seen before!

:grr 2fastandfurious. PLEASE go buy a manual!!!!! YOU really need to learn about your machine. I am not trying to be mean. Just blunt. If you are serious about thinking that is an additional exhaust port that has been blocked, then you are in need of some serious education. Until you get a manual, that "port" you show a picture of is actually a cap that covers the rocker arm. If you look on the rear of the engine, there is another one identical to that one. They made those caps to make it possible to access the rockers and adjust the valves without having to tear the motor down. BTW you need to make sure to do maintainence on your quad. One of those includes adjusting your valves at regular intervals. (depending on your amount and type of riding) Really, go buy a manual, it is one of the best investments for your quad. With a little common sense and a bit of mechanical skill, you can save piles of money. Bike shops are expensive, and peplacement parts are CRAZY PRICEY! That head you see in your picture, if it is new......about $400-$500. my guess is it is just the original cleaned or blasted when some work was done to the head. Fairly recent I would say. How long have you had the quad? I can post some pics of a head and the caps torn down, I got one ripped apart now, waitin' on cash to fix it. Need about $600:(

DOH! Thanks man. I've had a lot of different quads. Just never really cared about the engine at all. Ran it till it broke then sold it and bought another one. Ya i do need to get a manual. I have one for all my cars and its great. Shame on me. Called original owner, new head, new piston, new ring(s) I've owned this one for about 2 weeks. I really like it. I figured i would join a web site tha dealt only with a specific type of quad rather than all fo those random places out there

ya ya. i know im kinda slow tonight. Hey just got an email from REDRIDER hes getting me the case. Then i'll hopefully be riding byt the weekend. I might just buy one brand bew though. Im really having a tough time deciding. If i wait for redriders i wont be able to ride this weekend. So im not sure yet. The HONDA place can get the part in one day whcih is really nice.

depends...which is cheaper? just make sure that u dont tell redrider to send it and then buy the one from the store....just decide which cheaper...redrider i would think is cheaper....it may be worth the wait....i know that u want to get back up on the beast and do somemore superman wheelies:D

dude you should have seen that. My knees and legs are still killen me. Last night i moved the grab bar out 2 inches. I should be able to pull back till i nick the grab bar no the ground and then let up a little bit and ride it for a few miles!!! LOL! :p

That head is stock, just looks cleaned up or new.

About the side case, don't rush it, I did and I had to tear the whole thing down again because I forgot to put something in.

think its because your to lean on the pilot jet? I know my dads friend and I had the same problem with it being hard to start.

Sure i'd like to see a pic. And sure i might check the jetting. And yep, DG pipe on the way, and ya its going to be a very slow install. I'm not messing anything up!
