2007 Dodge Megacab 3500....5.9, G36.

All stock at this point...hoping to at least level it, and put some 35's on it in the near future....and maybe a programmer too(for the fuel mileage gain....right?, lol). :D

i want a diesel so badddd!!!, my dads friend goes to the auction often and he's looking for one for me.

How do you guys like your dodges?, i was looking at like 2000-2003's and i like them but ive heard there front ends are less than impressive and the trannys suck

Everyone around here drives lifted fords so i prefer to stay away from Powerjokes

And i love my chevy, so i'd like another but i hate IFS (too much to lift, sucks for 4 wheelin), and the duramax engines are soo quiet and they dont look as good as the others with stacks:cool:

My neighbor's looking to get rid of his dodge 2500. Lifted 6'' I believe, 37's, and a bunch of dress up parts. Clear lights, blacked out bumpers, etc. If you're interested I'll ask him how much he wants for it and grab some pics. Has a banks kit, filter, and exhaust. That's about it in the power dept.

None taken, i acually like the fords alot i just called them powerjokes for the hell of it, any powerstroke would destroy my chevy 6.0...obviously that goes without saying

but yeah around me theres probably 10 or so trucks i see regularly, and there all fords so i want to stand out from the crowd, i love the look of my chevy and when i get a diesel i'll proabably stay with chevy, im brand loyal! haha

Thanks its 48ft trailer pulls it like its nothing loaded with 2 cars in it. The 6.7 was not out yet when i got the 5.9, but i have been thinking of trading it for one, just because i want the 6 speed auto! A smarty is a must for dodge trucks!!

hey rollie! I am in love with the truck. It beats ronnie hatems how it sits hahaha. My front end is still tight but i might get the bd support anyways, no tranny problems seeing its 6-speed. I have the typical bottom of the door rust starting, but i am going to have that taken care of real soon. I am deffineatly happy i bought the truck.

I was a die hard Chevy guy, and I was going to buy a DirtyMax, but couldnt touch one in AZ for under 30k. I bought my 01 with 97k on it for 21k. I put a clutch in it right after I got it, it was smoked when I bought it. And I had to put a starter in it.

I did a ton of work to it, and it gets faster and faster, and I flat beat on it, and it still runs like its brand new. No rust issues out here in AZ. Ill never go back to a gasser truck, and my next one will be a MegaCab.

The 12V will generally make more power than the 24V unless you were to P-Pump a 24V (which is one the baddest combos out there, lay down 800HP walk in the park) but I like the 24V trucks better. Anything after 98.5 will be a 24V and be known as "Generation 2". The new Gen. 3 Common Rails run pretty darn good as well. They are much quieter and with a Smarty will run pretty hard. Fact is you cant beat a Cummins for towing. I can be fully loaded on the freeway, and blow by a Ford or Chevy with the same load.

rollie
06-08-2008, 08:30 PM
I wont be towing much, just want the power!

Yeah im looking at 2000-2002 2500 auto's with the 24 valve, so i know it will need a tranny upgrade eventually, but theres nothing wrong with a project truck!! Sme up here i love my chevy but duramax's are all over 30,000 and i just dont have that, ive seen a few 02 cummins for like 15,000 so i was thinking that way:cool: plus duraaxes are quiet!! no good

Do not get an Auto. Once you start doing mods it will go down hill quickly. Autos are great for boosted launches but will break rather often.

I have a freind with a sequential 12V (700-800HP) and he has an auto. His best freind does trannys for a living, and they cannot get this thing to hold a tranny. The tranny has every billet gear available, billet input shaft, billet SunCoast converter etc etc, 30lb boosted launch, hit the Nitrous about 60ft mark, and BAM, input shaft sheared off. Between all the breakages, I would guess that they have around 15-20k in this tranny so far, and this is tranny number 2.

Yep autos are bad for any power even the smarty! Theres a guy right by my work running around 800 in his dodge and has gone thru 7 trannys and im sure there not cheap haha. R3concepts you have a smarty?
