about 2 years ago i bought a diamondback response comp. from a local bike shop. i forget exactly how much i paid but it was in that range. great bike, 120mm of front travel, disc brakes. for the money i couldnt beat it, and it hasnt let me down yet, and i beat the hell out of it when i ride

I got a 2007 SE DJ Flyer.

Its a rigid frame with marzochi forks. about 80mm of travel.. Its a good bike

But cost isnt its best point. try about $800-850..

Working at a bike shop really helped me out with the price

Kona's are so nice. My friend had a Kona, higher end but still a hard tail man that thing was great to ride. It was so smooth, light, and the suspension worked so good I wanted to buy 1 but... I didnt feel like coughing up the money like that for a bike so I saved the money instead and bought a 400ex a few years later lol.
