I had a 12.5:1 416 and it held up great for 2 years. Now I have it built to a 440 stroker. Just check and make sure there isnt any slack between the wristpin and the rod.

I had a 12.5:1 416 and it held up great for 2 years. What happened to it after 2 years? Did it start to smoke?

No. When I put the piston in the wristpin hole on the rod was at its absolute limit. After about two years I tore it apart to put new rings (I do it just to keep everything fresh) and noticed it had more slack than I was comfortable with. So since I needed a new rod I just got a stroker crank and went that direction.

Any problems whatsoever? Do you recommend this build?

It worked great for me. I never had a probelm with anything. It never failed to crank. I never even had to choke it. It gives great low end torque by the way. The only thing is having to run race gas, but I dont mind that.
