grinding noise?

i was at the track yesterday and whenever i hit my back brakes to slide around a corner there was a grinding noise, what could it be? my brake pads are good. Could it be rocks/dust in the rotor?

most likely some dirt or sand got caught in the brake pads, causing them to grind alittle, if its only doing it when on the brakes then that's what the problem is.

I get more of a winding noise from the same thing and then i tap the brakes again and it goes away. my guess is there getting stuck slighty. or holes packed with to much dirt.
