not necessary but i have one and i really like it...

i like it for when i go to warm up the bike, i know how long i need to warm it up for cuz i can see the temp... i like it when i get done from shooting the hill over and over, how long i need to let my bike cool... i dunno, im the only one in my immediate dune group that has one, and i really like it...
