You have to set it up for the size of your front tire. I did it twice to make sure it was correct and then I did a test. At about 150 ft I was off by about 3 ft. I will tke that. Trailtech and Panaroma I think are the same, could be wrong.

I heard that the trail tech read faster readings then there really was. Is this true?

i have a trail tech but instead of spending $80 on the one for a quad i went to wal-mart bougt the same exact trail tech speedometer for 25 i just had to modify the wire because it was a bit short so i just spliced some speaker wire into it then i drilled my sprocket for the magnet and it works great i think its pretty accurate i had a truck follow me and our speeds matched

i have one and i put my friends GPS on my quad and went down a road and with stock gearing and all my engine mods they were both at 70mph, a stock 400 doesnt pull to redline, there is another 5 mph still waiting there! i didnt even know that! i was amazed at howit jumped from 65 to 70 , it was cool,

Im probobly the only one in this forum that had a trail tech and didnt like it.

I thought it read MPH too slow. I estimated that it refreshed it self about every second, instead of instantly. Im used to looking at the digital readout on my vette and expected the speedo to be just as quick to measure MPH.

When riding in muddy conditions, the speedo would freeze up. It would read I was going over 100 mph when I was standing still.

I never seemed to get it adjusted right either. I followed the instructions down the "T" and never got it right.

Good luck with your decision and let us know what you decide bud.:D
