Is anybody with a similar setup to mine willing to share what gearing they've found to work?

I've got a 310 non powervalve mx ported with 38mm air stryker. I use it for mx but generally stick with 20" tires for versatility.

Its currently got 13/39 sprockets with severe wheel spin. I think it needs taller gearing but i'm trying get an idea what my motor will pull.

15/38 here, not much wheelspin when riding but 1st gear is nearly unusable. It will spin 1st on pavement in a drag so I use second.

Also, 20 inch tires. It sounds tall but I'm seriously considering going to a 36 rear. 1st gear is just so low that I never ever use it.

honestly. run the gear that your bike likes best according to the engine mods you have, tire sizing and weight, and in the riding conditions you ride the most of.

thats the best advice i can give.....

i've set up 4 bikes with varying engine mods including different c/r's, porting, carb sizes and cc's and same tire sizes. each require different gearing to shine fully.

ok thanks guys. I'll probably try the 38 rear first then the the 14 front if all goes well after that
