Does anybody have or know about the magura hydrolic clutches for teh 400 ex. Do you like them and are they easier to pull or anything. I rode one of the ktm bikes and really liked the way teh clutch worked.

Its not worth the 250 clams... I got a buddy with KTM 125SX... Its pretty nice, but i wouldnt even notice on the track, his acutally got messed up one race and he couldnt pull it in..... in my eyes the 250 could be spent else where.

I absolutely love mine. Regulator 250X, you say that you wouldn't even notice it? I would never go back to a regular one. I have never been in one race but when me any my buddies go riding, we camp out and get up at the buttcrack of dawn and keep going till dark. We stop for lunch and rest every now and then, but there have been days where I've ridden for 12 + hours. That is when it really helps out. When the rest of your body wants to give up, your left hand keeps on pullin. Before the Magura, I was ready to give up after lunch I had so much arm pump. One of the best things I've got on the quad so far.

I have tried one and like all those other guys said. They are great. Nice soft and smooth pull. But IMO I can spend my 250 in another place.

I mean I am running a PEP right now and i love it too. It may not be as soft but it is pretty nice. I would get one if your quad is already got a arms, Shocks, swing arm, and its engine done. But not until that. THat stuff is more important.

Get the big stuff done and then spend the money on that.

if you get the right manual clutch perch and keep your cable new or very well lubed it will match the magura. i had one on my cdale and there is one on my R . my freind is religous with hus R and he uses a RIS perch and lever and swaps out his cable when it gets noticable stiffer.

the RIS set up will run ya like $70 and a new cable will run about $14 . in my opinion.....id run that set up before the magura. in fact...i will be switching mine out and to teh RIS soon. i like the magura ......i just dont trust the way it is mounted to the engine.

Thats the best thing about them. Virtually NO MAITENANCE!!! Sure everyonce in a while, u have to check the fluid, and clean the lever and perch. But it DOESNT get hard towards the end of a mud race, when the cable gets stiff from all the water and mud. Its a smooth pull the whole way. I just got my new lever with the needle bearings, supposed to give it a better pull.......OH MY GOODNESS!! Its unreal how easy it is to pull. Some ppl can say u cant feel clutch fade or anything, ive NEVER had that problem at all! Def. worth the money in my mind!!

I have one and love it! Yes you can get as easy of a pull out of a cable one but you will have twice the maintinace. The bigest thing I like about it is that it seems to provide a larger area to slip the clutch. Also the friction point remains at the same position throughout an entire race. Like Extreme said there is no maintenance. It does matter how stiff of clutch springs you are running you are still going to have the same easy smooth and constant pull on the clutch lever

yeah ive been running mine all year, and havent had a problem at all. The only thing ive ever heard about them that wasnt good, was that if the hose hits your exhaust, it will blow. But u can go by a steel braided line for it for about 50 bucks. So for around 250 u can have a bullet proof system:D

Has anyone compared the Billetanium setup to the Magura? I know it's quite a bit more expensive but it looks a lot more substantial too.

I think $400 for a clutch is WAY to high!!! The billetanium looks nice, but I dont think many will spend that much on a clutch!!!

I just removed my clutch cable all together,,stupid thing just got in my way..:huh

I have one for sale for a 250r any one interested?

I have one on my new 400ex and i love it. I took a plastic hose and cut to wrap the line so nothing would hit it. They give you a good long line it does not run between you header pipe. I got mine ziptie way out of the way. I recommend it.

i have a msr raptor shorty perch and lever, along with a wb clutch reducer. it was almost as easy to pull as my friends hydraulic. although the difference in them is like elka shocks to custom axis shocks. they are both very good, but the axis are a lil bit more refined.
