I'm wanting to switch my 05 long travel Laeger +2's to my 06.

Will it work? If not they're for sale...

if you use 05 spindles it will. it MIGHT work with 06 spindles, not 100% sure though.

I will definitely work if you use 2005 spindles and hubs.

I have Houser +2 LT a-arms designed for 2006 year on my 2006 and still run 2005 spindles and hubs. I am right at the limit of camber adjustment though.

Maybe we should trade? You need 05/04's and I need 06+...

I'm not sure you need 2006 a-arms either. It is definitely worth a try putting on what you have and see if you can set your camber. There is only a 1/4" difference. I am pretty sure the upper a-arms on the 2005 are 1/4" longer. You probably have plenty of room to make this much adjustment.

I have the Houser Long Travel Slicast a-arms. I just did a complete rebuild on them. I don't want to part with them.

You should do what I did...just order the 2005 hubs and spindles from ebay. I didn't pay $150 for both spindles and hubs that were like new take-offs.

So why did you put 05 spindles on your 06? Are you happy with the change and was it worth the extra cost involved?

I'm very interested in your information.

Thanks,
Rick

They say the geometry on the 2006 isn't quite as good as it was in 2005. The 2006 pushes a bit more in turns...if you use totally stock settings anyhow.

I switched when I rode a 2005 and it felt better in the turns than mine. So, I called Houser Racing and talked to John. He said all the guys sponsored by Houser are running the 2005 setup. He thought the 2005 spindles and hubs would probably work with my 2006 a-arms they are so close anyhow. So, I went for it. I will say that when I first mounted up my 2005 stuff using stock caster, I really couldn't tell a difference. Once I changed the caster though, it was a huge improvement. I am running 3 degrees now. I do wonder now though if I could have just played with the caster on the 2006 setup and been just as happy. If I were you, I would give it a try first to see if you like it. You will definitely be able to adjust your caster. It is really whether you can get the camber right. I am 95% sure you can get it within the correct range.

I've actually noticed the biggest improvement switching to ITP Quadcross tires on the front with Turftamers on the rear. The front really seems to stick where I point it now.

If you need some good directions on setting up your front end, go to Houser's website and check out the Install Guides section.

I appreciate you taking the time to write all that. I'm gonna look into that.

Thank you,
Rick
