Pretty sure that sticky is for the REAR brake converstion, not the front spindle and what not.

To the topc at hand, i've researched a little bit and from what a member on here that has done it told me, it is not ideal. There not enough camber adjustment or something to that effect.

there is one post in that sticky refering to this topic only list part numbers for the parts off the microfiche nothing of the way it worked out for the camber, or much else.

The sticky for the rear is my thread, I've done both the front and rear. Here's something I posted in another thread regarding the front conversion. Also, the price of doing this has gone up considerably since I did it, alot of 450R parts have doubled or tripled in price.

"I have a complete 04-05 450R setup on my '03 Lonestar, I don't know if I would do it again. I can't get enough camber adjustment in it without binding the ball joints. I ride it and race it as it is, but you can see the tops of the tires leaning out slightly. I have Lonestar arms, maybe another brand would be better. I've even tried an '06 and newer setup, and it's even worse."

I don't have any pics of it from the front. Without using a tape measure on it, I'd have to say the tops of the tires are out about 1/2" farther than the bottom. I would like to set it up correctly but I just can't get the movement needed from the ball joints.

I just finished installing the 450R ('04-'05) spindles on a Laeger CRF frame with Houser long travel a-arms, and I have the opposite condition that Rich has. I'd like to have a little less camber (set at about 4 degrees currently), but I'm out of adjustment on the upper heim joints. I'm ok with where it's at, but it would be nice to have a little less camber. Otherwise, the conversion is nice. I also do not have the issue of the tie rods being adjusted all the way out, that I had heard of before.

One other thing I found is that the 250R & 450R have the same front brake pads.

Has anyone tried this conversion and the 400EX?

Can anyone speak on which is better, or give the positives and negatives for each. I'm looking to complete this mod, but can't decide which one to do. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd suggest just going with the 400EX spindles and the 250R calipers.

I have also done the conversion. I believe the spindles are from an 04. I'm using Wicked A-arms and currently the camber is neutral with both top and bottom tie rods in all the way. Wheels are perfectly vertical (checked using a level).

Basically I have no issues whatsoever

Heres a angle shot showing the brakes...You can zoom in to see them better.

are your a-arms std length or are they wider or moved forward?

They are suppose to be +2+1, but it measures 47" outside-to-outside when unloaded.
