yes umm i am puting a timing chain in and the guids when i do the timming on it do i have to take the left side of the casing and put a new gasket in??? and my cylinder is a little bigger then the pistion is it going to hurt anything what size or wat ever i need to be right for my 426.???

You dont have to take the cover off to do the timing. There are two plugs, a big and a small. Take them out and turn the engine over with a ratchet and look in the small hole and line up the "T" on the flywheel with the notch in the case cover. The only way to know if your piston fits properly is to take it to a machine shop and have them measure it. It should have between .002" and .004" clearance.

if you are changing the timing chain then yes you will have to remove the RIGHT

if you are changing the timing chain then yes you will have to remove the RIGHT side cover not the left. if the gasket doesnt get damaged then you can reuse it otherwise id get a new one

Im sorry I misread. Yeah you have to remove the cover and many other parts to change the chain.

or you could just make your own gaskets with this stuff you can buy its like silicon saves yo ualot of money to!
