That's where I originally read it (or part of it). When I read that the backflip was near, it through me off.
I think it's actually from 2003. Does the petition work? Beats the hell out of me. Does it hurt to sign it? Nope.

IMHO, yes. Yes, it could. If I were a producer that it was sent to, i would read it and come to the conclusion that either:

1) the petitioners were lazy and copied an old petition. Little to no effort put into the petition.

or even worse

2) It took them 5+ years to get 4400 signatures. Proof positive to NOT consider it.
