How do you remove the plastic cover in the middle of the handlebars on an 07 400ex? There does not seem to be a way to disconnect the lights and ignition switch at the cover. Do they get disconnected somewhere else? If so, where?

Thanks

I've got an '07 as well, and just replaced my bars a couple of weeks ago. There's a screw in the middle (by the gas vent hose hole) of the dash panel. Un-screw that. What I did next, was take the hood off, follow the wires for the lights and ignition and disconnect them from under the bike. Then you can "un-snap" the dash from the bars. The ignition has two tabs (under the dash) that you squeeze to release the ignition. For the lights, remove the green/red lens cover (it just seats into the rubber boot) then pull thru the holes.

all u have to do is take a little flat head screwdriver and pop the little caps off of the lights and pull the light out through the bottom.
