I parked my R in the shop Friday, and today I noticed a spot on the concrete that hadn't been there. I knew it was coolant, but I didn't know why. I took the clamp off the hose that goes from the water pump to the radiator, and inspected it. I found a tiny hole right behind where the clamp goes. What would be the best way to fix this? I was thinking maybe some ClearSeal on the outside of the hose? Any idea's?

from the looks of the hose it wont be long till you will be needing new hoses anyways

in a pinch, take a piece of rubber heater hose 1 inch long, split the side, put it over the hole and put a clamp around it.

chances are unless u get a new one, it wont hold. Its under a good bit of pressure. u can try it, but u might find yourself overheating when all the coolant leakes out

The only fix for a hole in a hose is to get a new one. You can try at the auto parts store. We found one one time that was close to the bend of one of the hoses on the R. Just had to bend it a little and do some cutting for length.

Thanks for all the replies fellas. I got my new one Monday, but I just cut it off back to the hole and went riding Saturday & Sunday.

Also, if any of you guys are ever in the same fix I was in, there is a product(We deal in it) called Xtreme Tape. This stuff is awesome. It has sealed many of our tractor radiator hoses, air lines, water hoses, etc. Give it a try.
