08 400ex

I just saw it at the new canfield, ohio honda dealer. This thing is the best looking 400 ive ever saw in my life imo. i love it.:D

There were 80 changes overall between the '07 and '08. Most were ergonomic but the biggest is body work.

I see them in person and they just dont impress me. What did surprise me was the 700XX. That looks really good and when you sit on it it doesnt feel like a monsterous quad it feels very sport and comfortable. The 2008 400ex just dont seem to grab my attention. 99 - 04 400ex are my favorite because they are so distinct. They arent 450r look a likes or anything. I'm not saying newer ones look bad because they dont at all but I just love the older style.

i think they get more ugly everytime they change the plastics. plus they still have the same old "pogo stick" front end. JMO

I think the 08's look horrible. I was going to buy one until I saw it in person and sat on it. Instead of the front plastics curling down and up to form the fenders it's strait across. I think the styling was awesome in 99-04 and got progressively worse from there. Thats why in 09 they better look like the 99-04 models.

thats why i loved the 99 - 04 because the plastic was so distinct you could always identify it as a 400ex. then in 2005 it looked so similar to the 05 450r it was like you had to take a few looks at it. If i bought a 2008 400ex I would buy the older plastics and put them on

I can't figure out why people say that they're impressed with how the '08 700xx looks, but are disappointed with how the '08 400ex looks?? Compare both models in red/black. They look very similar.

Oh yeah, no doubt certain aspects of the two machines are different. But the overall look of the 700XX certainly had to be inspired by the 400EX.

I really don't like the look of these 2008's at all. They just are starting to look like Can-ams with the spacey looking fenders and crap. I looked at one in person and I couldn't tell the difference between the 2008' and any of the others I looked at except the plastic.

i love the yellow 99-03 ex's, and i love the '05-'07 black and red ex's. i think honda ruined the 400ex with the 2008 model. it is the ugliest looking quad i have ever seen in my life, and the way the front plastics are molded it makes the thing look really really tall.

i like the way my '07 looks better....just like the '06 450r...i just like the rounded headlights and plastics....the new one looks more like yamahas and suzukis with sharp pointed edges instead of rounded ones...i dunno if that makes sense to anyone....i don't really like the look of the newer 450rs either....i do love the way the kfx 450 looks....it's probably the best looking quad made right now....i might go look at the 700xx when i get some time....but geez that thing is expensive....i wouldn't buy it just for that...i've only seen it in pics but it looks ugly too....lol

I saw the 700xx in person and I sat on it and i fell in love with it lol i saw it in pictures and i said ehh it looks alright but when i saw it in person i said wow this is really nice. It doesnt feel like a big machine when you sit on it, it feels very sporty. Then I saw the 2008 400ex and I said wow do not like that at all

I don't know why everyone bashes the 2008..

The 2008 is by far my favorite 400ex. It's nothing like the 400ex, but similar to the yfz, which is one of my favorite looking quads. It has real nice ergonomics, which make it feel sportier then the older ones also.

Also, I thought 08400EX's was the hottest 400ex around. Even though it was basic, it was effing hot. The all black fenders with black beadlocks, pro armor bumper/nerfs, etc. I wish it was mine in the worst way.

I definitly want to convert my 05. The 05 is my second favorite, but the 08 is just sick, IMHO.

As a matter of fact, I thought 08400EX's was so sick, i saved a pic of it.

What would you like to see? Or do you mean change the plastic? If they change it to the spacey Can-Am style like these two I'd be done with honda for good.

That sure is black, I'd like to see it w/o the fenders I think it would look sweet.

here is my brother-in-laws drag bike he just got finished redoing redoing to for the season coming up... is a 00 or 01 with 08 400 plastic... ill have him get on later and post more pics and info if needed

you cant in 08 they changed gas tank sizes and some other things like that i thin kthey got pissed because when they swtiched to the 450 style they never changed naything but plastics and the people with the older 400ex with the to big headlights caught on and said screw buying a new one il just switch plastics and no one will no the difrence so now they switched gas tank sizes and stuff so people cant do that anymore. and how you said they look like a 450r if you actuly ride with lots of 450rs you can figure out that the 450r is a lower sitting quad and the back fenders are more pointed at the ends.

this is one of the biggest reasons why i hate the 08 400ex. it has no personality...it looks like the other yami and zukis...copy cats are the worst thing

450r has air scoops stock the 05-07 doesnt
the front fenders on the 450r come out a little past the headlights
the 400ex is parrallel with the headlight
450r has a slimmer seat the in front near the tank, 400ex is thicker
