i just sold my ct 265r so i picked up a shee it has some fmf pipes bead locks and a few outher stuff
my question is what is good compression for these motors? my honda used to get 180 psi. i did a test on the shee and im getting 40psi one one side and 60psi on the outher so in my mind that is really low. but its still fast!!!!!!!!!!!! so im planing to do a top half who make a good rebuild i see vito's has a cast set up for $79 bucks http://www.vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/home.php?cat=210 is this any good or shoud i go with something forged?
thanks!!!

That engine def needs a re-build with that low of compression. Stock engines will generally see around 120.

I have not experienced Vito's top end kit before, so I can't say whether they are good or bad. I do know a lot of people run Wiseco top ends and are always happy.

while its apart, mill the head .028:cool:

With the milled head you'll see around 130psi, with stock about 120 somewhere.

Dude, with a shaved head it will be plenty fine. You have to remember, twin-cylinder, 130+130=260. Thats 260psi total psi combined.

Now, if you actually WANT to run race gas, then high compression is even better for power I guess, just not as reliable.

Buy a noss head and put some 16 or 17cc domes on that sob. Stock is like 22 i believe. I don't know exact numbers, but you should be looking at around 170 per cylinder with the smallest domes they make.
