first off, i just wanna hey and tell you that u got a great site. I'm a member of bluetraxx and no one really seems to answer questions...so i came here.

Im looking to buy a piston, cam, and spring package for christmas. So far i have come up wiht a JE 10.75:1 piston, hotcam stage II cam, and some kibble-white springs. I dont know a lot about this stuff so any help is great. Someone said that id have tog et the cylinder "honed". is this correct? also, is it worth it to go with stock bore, i was thinking of maybe going with the 12:1 JE and getting the cylinder bored out. n lastly, if i got my piston, cam, springs, and bored or honed or whatever, would i need ANYTHING else? an guess as to what this will cost and where i could get it would be great too!

Wait untill you have your motor torn apart before you decide if you get it bored or honed. If its not bad you could just get it honed and use the stock size. That stuff together should help quite a bit. But on the honda's you should use hardend rockers too. i'm not sure if thats the case on yamaha's. While you were at it i would get some porting done too. just a thought

I would get bore out to a 686. You will get more power out of it.

higher compression will give you very noticable gains, honing is justa method used the scrape the cylinder wall to make it hold the compression better, stage II cam is a good choice, 12:1 compression you have to use racing feul i think, i know you would with a EX

It is liquid cooled so if I remember right you can go up to 12.5:1 without using racing fuels.
