Well my xbox broke down on me, i have the 3 red lights and im pissed.. but what do u guys think of the new 360 Elites compared to the orginal white 360's?

what i want to know most is, is the 360 elite alot more reliable?? how many have broken down??

and i was lastly thinking of buying a PS3 but im not sure.. i have all my money invested into xbox and xbox games.. if i do got that path which PS3 should i get??

i dont have an elite but all they are is a regular 360 painted black with a 120 gb HDD and some extra accessories. so there should not be a difference in reliablity. if you have a bunch of xbox games just stick with the xbox. if its still under warranty send it to microsoft and after you get it back you should probably get one of those intercoolers so it will be less likely to break again.

dude get ps3 its so much better you can even go on atvriders or check your email with it lol its cool looking at websites on a 50" tv lol

raptor350yamaha.. i thought the intercoolers hurt the system.. the put more of a strain on it... does anyone have a 360 elite? if i do get a 360 elite can i upload my saved data?? and whats the difff betwenn the 40gb ps3 vs 80 gb ps3

i dont know anyone who has the intercooler but just heard they help stop the red ring problem. they might hurt it, i dunno. i dont think you can upload save data unless you swap out the elite HDD for your regular one when you wanna play a game you have saved on there. heres what the elite comes with http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5751086

yea my x box did it, I guess that there was such a big problem with them that microsoft extended the waranty and if you send it in they will give you a new one. I ended up buying a new one and giving the old one to my little sisters and they are going to send it in. I got the elite comes with all of your x-box live stuff and the hard drive but mine is white. havent had any problems so far.

you my friend are absolutely wrong, the 360 elites have never overheated EVER and unlike the regular 360 they have a cover over the lens so should you accidentally move the 360 while its on it will not scratch the disc, well at least not as bad as the other ones you might end up with scuffs depends on how long it hits against it, and hardware failures are pretty much unheard of for these

my elite is awesome, i have the intercooler and it keeps it 10x cooler. I knocked it over while i was playing no scratched disks.Just keep the elite in an open space with an inter cooler standing UPRIGHT and it shouldnt give you any problems,

This is what i found out. The elites were different than the white ones when they first came out. Now if you buy a new one the insides are all the same. the only difference between the elite and the others is the hard drive and the black case.

soo whats my best way to go.. sell my 360 and get a xbox 360 elite or keep mine after microsoft fixes it and get a ps3 and sell sum of my xbox games i dont play for sum money??

Yea get yours fixed and the intercooler hurts the system becuase it takes from the consels powersource and it makes it run differently and can get the red ring easier.

the difference is how much memory it has. and some of does vary with what ps2 games are compatable. i was told that the 60GB was the best, but they no longer make it. it was just about completely compatiable to with ps2 games.

360's suck, they are very unreliable. I've never had red rings but I've had the disc read errors three times now. They are just pieces of junk.

Unfortunately the 360 is the only one with actual games that do not suck, so there isn't much hope until they completely revise the 360 if they even do. And even then we will likely have a whole new set of problems.

It would seem that with all of the money MS is making they could afford to make a quality gaming machine that isn't a piece of ****, but alas, they can't.

If you buy a PS3 don't complain when you buy the 20GB and can't play Ps2 games. If you want backwards compatability buy the 80GB. People complained that the PS3 was to expensive so they lowered the price at a cost of backwards compatability and people still complain. I bought the 20GB on release day so it plays all PS2 games but I also put a 300GB HD in it. :devil:

Okay....so I am on my 3rd Xbox here is the deal with them I learned this once I started working at Best Buy....Up until this past november ALL of the Xbox's core, pro, elite had the same chip set and yes all three are known for over heating...this chip set was the second set Msoft has released slightly more reliable then the first one but still sucked....The new ones about Nov on have been A ton better....I bought one of the new premium versions...It doesnt sound like an airplane....it doesn't get hot to the touch after hours of playing...it functions like a normal system...Do what I did....take your Xbox ship it to Micro for a rebuild they will ship you a refurb take that a few games you don't play anymore Ebay it... I got 400 for it then I went to work and bought a new premium system with the new chip set and no issues know...

I have the Elite model. My screen name is spedelbrock, and GTA4 is the game I'm playing now.I have the Nyko intercooler and its the revised one you can get from Wal mart works great and is corrected for surge problem they supposedly had.Also the 120gb hard drive is awesome,plenety of room for storing a ridiculous amount of game demos,music,save games ect....I was always a PlayStation player until the Xbox 360 but the PS3 doesn't have as many good games as the xbox360 either.
