there she is...01 440ex motor is liek brandy new..hotcam whitebros slip on (last owner shortened it up) sounds good. ext axle fatbars... nerfs..nice little quad..

i plan on getting the rear shock revalved and getting 450R shocks..
and i wanna put the new style plastics on it...

hyper CF wheels
gunna put a blue HMF on it to match the frame..
ohh yea nd skids to....
im gunna run open C class harescrambles just to prove its the rider not the bike :) haha

and i got the recipts to prove the 440...

i raced an 04 piped jetted proflow and stg 1 cam.. SMOKED it..and i wasnt even used to the shift points on this thing..i cant wait to get it dialed in for my riding and get the 07 plastics on it!!!!

yeaa but she needs some 450R shocks.. ive never ridden a stock susp 400 ex and while its good enough for the trails.. i need something better for XC thats easy on the piggy bank.. do you think getting a cheap set or 450Rs revalved is better than worcs? i always bought semi built quads and most had elkas or works on them...havent rode a revalved stock 450r susp. yet..

also im looking for a nice Swinger skid.. and frame guards...id rather buy a used skid and paint it to mtch the frame... i know the paint wont last long on the bottom but the top where you see it should look good..if not ill just sandblast the paint off..

oh yea im getitng blue handuards for it too!

i kinda liek the cut down e series...its different..and around here ill never see anyone with that pipe....im debating painting its metallic blue..but i think the rocks and stuff would total the paint..so ill prob get a blue HMF..

You got a hell of a deal man it looks great. I love the mods you are getting for it its gonna be nice. From what I hear the stock 450r rebuilds are better then the cheap aftermarket shocks so you would be a lot better off with stock 450r rebuilds then you would be with works. I hated the works on my 300ex.

Yeah thats an awesome deal you got there! 450r shocks are pretty good when adjusted without even getting naything done.

I just noticed part of the plastics already are the newer style. Hardly noticeable, but the black plastic panel where the fuel petcock is doesn't have the circles cut out. If I were you I would keep it how it is. I have an 07, and I think the older ones look way better.

would it even matter what registered on the compression tester...isnt there an auto comp release on it?...

i really liek the look of the new plastics with a hood on them.. im getting black not red or yellow..when i get the black plastics the frame is getting PC GOLD along with the swinger , hubs , ect

one becasue race cuts wont cut it at a muddy harescramble and 3 becasue EVERYONEEE around here has the older style 400's

and yess GNCC's will be on it with hypers

Very good deal! don't switch to an HMF just for the color. you can get your can powder coated. Plus the WB e series has a nice sound.

well iw as gunna switch to the HMF for 2 reasons..one its quieter than the e-series thats on it (if you didnt notice the e series thats on it was cut almost in half and then the end was attached to it...

the secoond reason is i love the sound of an HMF on 400's...and it comes in blue which is just a nice perk to it...

i think im just gunna grind down the welds on the inside of the stock header..the only reason i would replace it is to get a nicer looking one...or maybe a powerbomb...

u can buy just the s/a with the discs and that will make it quiet as hmf which even that is still loud

and when i say i liek the sound of the HMF i dont just mean that its loud...i love the tone of it...

and i am a belive that loud pipes save lives... they saved mine TWICE!

i was at a pretty out there ridding spot..i usually never see another person there...esp not in the rain.. i was messin around on some jumps ..big floaters like at the dunes

as i was sailing over one i gave a little lookback and i had actually jumped over somebody!!

after i landed i went over to him (he was on a stock warrior) and hes like dude i was about to jump the other way and i heard you rippin twards me and i slammed on the breaks.. nex thing i know im lookin at your raptor sailin over me


had he jumped also it would been just about head on and i woulda went flyinnn through the air and i wasnt close to the ground at all

Yeah u deffinately need some 450r shocks.
I have a 426 and with changing from stock 400 shocks to 450r shcocks it a huge change, and you have more adjustments.
