I just bought a 02 400EX. It is yellow and I love it. I am coming off a 300EX and I like the 400 much better. I was thinking of getting a Z400 but I have always been a big fan of Honda products and the 400EX has a good reputation...not to mention the fact that they were closing them out at $1000 off with 4.9% financing for up to 60 months. This quad is plenty fast for me (for now anyway). I was just wondering if there is anything that I should watch for such as specific bolts coming loose or other things that may need attention. I have ridden dirt bikes for 20 years but 18 months ago I had a bad wreck and ended up having surgery on my right leg to have a rod installed in my tibia (or was it fibula?) Any way the large bone in my lower leg. My wife looks at dirt bikes in a negative light now so I feel lucky I was able to get this quad.

the parking brake stops working after about a week of riding, the throttle needs to be adjusted better, the stock handle bars bend easily, the front wheels get out of alignment if you roll, other than that i havent had any bolts come loose or any small problems happen.

I just bought an 02 400EX with the same exact deal. It was well worth it. What ridesa02400EX said is exactly what happens. He nailed everything. The parking brake I wouldnt worry about at all and definately adjust the throttle. The stock tires wear out lickity split too. :D

Hope I helped!

Is there a way to repair it ???

And are the bearings tough ? i mean if i do 2 wheels on the side... will it hurt them?

If you do alot of jumping the stock wheels don't last long either (atleast mine didn't)

i dont know about bearings but the parking brake i wouldnt worry too much about it nobody ever uses the parking brake and most people end up taking them off to save a little bit of weight anyways

So how do you properly adjust the throttle?

start your quad and let it idle, then pull teh boot off the left side of the throttle housing. loosen the lock nut, then twist the threaded peice out until teh engine just starts to rev, back it off a hair and you got it.
Good luck
