4mm stroker?

i bought a 440 kit with a weisco piston, and a sleeve from L.A. sleeve, i want to put a 4mm stroker in and what i am wondering is, when it says that u need a special piston by hotrods, do u really need a there piston or can i use the weisco piston that i have, are the pistons the same or are they different?

The pistons are different. The wrist pin hole is moved up and the skirt is shaved to clear the crank. The piston you have could be used but it would have to be highly modified which would cost just as much if not more than buying the other piston. The other option is to get your crank stroked by powroll and use there shorter rod. Then you could use the piston you have just by shaving the piston skirt to clear.
