Project Black TPS Wiring

So this bike has a crf conversion on it and unfortunatly the stock tps sensor plug has been cut and replaced with three bullet connectors. This means I need to get the three connection correct instead of just plugging the key'd plug in.

On a TRX TPS sensor...

1. Green/Yellow =Ground
2. Light Green =Positive
3. Purple = Vcc (5v)


On a CRF Harness...

1. Black =??????
2. Green =??????
3. Yellow =??????

If someone has a 04ish CRF wiring diagram, please let me know what these wires are. Thanks

I called a guy shop and the looked it up in a book. The books he had did not show what the wires were but compared the CRF and the TRX to see where they were in proximity on the cdi.

This was his best guess

On a CRF Harness...

1. Black =Vcc
2. Green =Neg (-)
3. Yellow =Pos (+)

I think I am going to give this a shot when the rest of my parts are back, but If someone can confirm this info with a CRF book that labels the wires that would be awesome!!!

EDIT: NM u have a CRF harness not a CRF carb like I thought.

Having the CRF TPS isn't the advange, it's have the CRF carb it self.
The TPS sensor on the CRF carbs isn't any different from the one on the stock carb as far as I know. Just have to change the plugs.

Here is the cross reference if you're looking at the TPS side:

Pink = Blue
Light Grn = Yellow
Grn/Ylw = Black

Here is the cross reference if you're looking at the harness side:

Pink = Blue
Light Grn = Yellow
Grn/Blk = Black

Here's a little additional information you should ignore unless you're just curious:

To figure out the wiring, it's easiest to make a little chart of each carb showing the results of each of the three possible combinations. These are referenced from the TPS side - substitute Grn/Blk for Grn/Ylw for harness side.

2004 42mm Stock TRX450R carb:
Resistance at: Closed throttle --> Open throttle
As measured between wires

Pink to Grn --- Hi --> Lo
Grn/Ylw to Grn --- Lo --> Hi
Pink to Grn/Ylw --- Hi --> Hi

2003 40mm FCR Carb from CRF450R
Resistance at: Closed throttle --> Open throttle
As measured between wires

Blue to Ylw --- Hi --> Lo
Black to Ylw --- Lo --> Hi
Blue to Black -- Hi --> Hi
