is there any details in the message that describes what it thinks is spyware?

could be the spyware blockers think your anti-virus is a threat..

Or it is just internet popup spam that looks like a warning, but is really just a ploy to get you to buy their spyware program.

Block internet popups, and stop surfing porn. ;)

imo norton sucks i aways like mcafee better i not sure what else to tell you other than when you get the spyware off go to mcafee and download site asvisor(its free) and this will tell you when you are on the internet if the page that you are on is checked out and has no spyware or adware on it

I second that!.....but yeah Adaware is the best for free, and spybot isnt as good as it used to be but better then nothing.....yeah Im not a big fan of norton at all, seems to miss alot, go with McAfee thats the first thing that I do to clients computers bc alot of them come with norton these days, and its not very much fun removing it either just to put McAfee on.

My backround changed itself to "warning spyware threat has been detected on your computer, your computer has several fatal errors due to spyware activity blah blah blah, click here to run a scan now"

and when you click on it it brings you to a website to buy more anti spyware stuff which is a bunch of crap, haha
