do the sidewinder chains really add power? i read that they add like 2 hp.

it may add some, maybe not like 2hp, but it is probably more free then other chains and increases hp a lil at the rear wheels. but the crank numbers stay the same.

If the chain is lighter then you have less rotating mass, therefore more "power"...so to speak. The lighter something is, the easier it is to move/spin/rotate it and that makes your motor more efficient thus boosting power.

I eat 2 Honey & Peanut Butter sandwiches every morning, gives you about 3 1/2 - 4 extra horses (at the crank)!!!!!!!!:eek2:

a different chain isnt necesarily adding HP its just freeing up some of the HP lost through a chain not as good. I think its the non o-ring chains that free up some HP 1 or 2 HP but its not o-ring i dont think it will last as long and it will need lubrication more or so i think.

a non o-ring is good for TT racing. I wouldn't personally run one for MX or XC racing.
