I think you should clean up the exhaust next. Dump it at the axle and it'll look much better.

When I take it to get an alignment im going to have the exhaust redone. Headerback 2.5" into dynomax bullets and straight out the back with some nice 3.5" chrome tips.

Looks good bro. Have you tried to pull anything with it? I'll be pulling my 16' car hauler and capri once a week or so with it. Wondering how much this will effect it.

Ive pulled a small 16' fiberglass boat and it was fine.

I wouldn't pull a car hauler though. It would bottom out to much. If you are going to be hauling with your truck I wouldn't lower it.

I wont be hauling with just the drop, I should have specified. The truck will also have airbags to work as helper springs when pulling. The car weighs around 2200 lbs, trailer probably close to 1200-1500 lbs so it wont be anything extremely heavy anyway.

Looks good brandon. Get some smaller wheels and tires, and clean up the exhaust a little. Then she'll be fly.

I dont recommend dumping it UNDER the truck unless you want to smell it all the time. I have that problem with my truck, but im gonna cure that by having it re-done and ran out on each side in front of the rear tires...

Thanks man. Yea im getting new tires next week. 275/60/15s in back and 235/60/15s up front.

I called a place to have my exhaust redone and they said $400 :scary:

I think im going to drive it to my uncles and do it myself. 2.25" true duals with flowmaster super 44s and maybe dump it before the rear axle or have it go straight out the back with nice tips.

Are you sure the front are 285s? That is pretty wide, like 11.5 inches IIRC. 285 is the width of a tire, and then the second number is the percentage of the width of the tire, and that is how tall the sidewall is...example. 285/75/16, the tire is 285 mm wide, and the sidewall is 75% of that, so it is 213.75 mm tall. If anyone knows the metric to inches conversion you can add the sidewall to the rim twice (top of rim and bottom) and get the tire height.

EDIT: ok, looked it up and 1 millimeter = 0.0393700787 inches. So take 213.75 x .039 and we get the sidewall to be 8.33 inches tall. We double that and get 16.66, we then add that to the rim and get a 32.66 inch tall tire. Then we use the same conversion to get the width to be 11.11. So the tire is 32.66/11.11/16

That was a waste of my time, you prolly already knew that

Would you rather me lift a 2wd?

If my truck was 4x4 I would have lifted it but it isnt so I lowered it. I love both lowered and lifted trucks.

As long as it isnt stock height, its good. I like lifted 2wd and lowered 4wd too...it just depends on the application. Some people use a 2wd to off road slightly, and some people have a 4wd truck, and have put money into their truck and like it, but want a lowered truck, so they lower it.

Way to get a cool thread ruined. I suppose if I posted a picture of my somewhat lowed F100, you would call me gay too? How does his vehicle affect his sexual persuasion?

Im pretty sure if we raced, my truck would outrun whatever your driving.

I only run the 1/4... I don't even mess with the 1/8th.

eh' I'm just not really a fan of lowered trucks unless they're drag trucks. It'd be cool to have a street truck, but it would be useless for me. I like to play off road too, so I don't think lowering would hlep me lol ;)

Not a bad looking truck though, but it needs paint. Oh yah... $400 is waaaayy too much. You'll like the race bullets though. Cheap and they're small. Sounds wise, IMO they sound really good on the bottom but ok up top. My brother has one on his 396 ranger.

416ex.. can your lowered truck run a 12.9 in the quarter? lol keep in mind this is a lifted ranger

Here's a small sound clip when he changed tranny's just so you have an idea of how they sound. It's a 4'' race bullet on manifolds. Working on headers, but you have to build a custom set. Passenger side off a 302 will fit, but driver's side is a different story.

If I play on the street, this is my street car.

My brother and I are building up a fox body stang. Right now it's going to have a 351 with a blown 408 or 427 stroker. Not really in any hurry to get it done, so it probably won't get the motor put in until around christmas. After that there are plans for a blown 460 to be put in it. We just sent the block out to get cleaned and baked, so who knows about that.

Really I give you credit for what you did to the truck, but I go the other way in height.

I really dont know what it would run in the 1/4 mile KXRida.

The closest 1/4 mile track to me is about 4 hours away, so I havent made that trip. My dad refuses to go that far with gas the way it is.

Nice engine though. Mind if I ask the specs on her?:)

Sweet. It looks great.

My F100 is an all steel truck (the body panels and such), I havent replaced anything with fiberglass, and dont plan to. It weighs in at just over 3900lbs with me in it.

BTW- anyone have a clue as to how hard it would be to put AC back in it? Living in FL, and having no AC is gonna be a killer here in another month or so. If its alot of trouble, then Im not going to worry about it.

Right now, it has NOTHING in it. All the AC componets have been removed, even the duct work in the dash. :ermm:

probably not worth it since it has the ducting and everything removed. Mine doesnt have AC either :( All I need is a compressor and a few other things though.

Well, damn...

First thing on the list is an AOD...this ole C4 is killing me on gas...

Im getting roughly 4-6 mpg right now. Driving around at 3500 rpm sucks...:(

he wants better gas mileage though so and AOD would be the way to go. Just have to get a built AOD to handle the HP.
