R shocks are alittle better, but in stock form they are not worth the money. Search for a set of used aftermarket shocks.

I think they are worth every penny. Not at the price most on this site sell them for who knows where they got these crazy prices like $200. I got mine off a 2005 that were used for a short time and then taken off and replaced with aftermarket they had been sitting in a guys garage in arizona. $135 shipped and when i got them I starred in awe of how clean they were I didnt think they had been used! The only signs of wear are a little paint is off the springs on both shocks from shock covers he had on them. It was just 1 line down the whole shock not even a quarter inch wide on both. I just turned both of those towards the inside of the quad and you cant see a thing. For $135... I think it was a smart decision. So much better than stock if you ride agressive. Just set them up a bit and play with the settings and they feel so nice. People said theirs seemd rough in trails or terrain going slow well mine seem to be WAY better through everything. I weigh 155lbs and with gear i'm not sure but they shocks were worth it now and for the long run to later get all 3 of my shocks revalved and resprung. You notice it more when you ride the 450r fronts and then a minute later take 400ex fronts over the same terrain. The 400ex are pogo sticks to the max and dont soak up crap. I recommend the 450r fronts any day from the price and how they feel.

In my opinion, 450r STOCK front shocks aren't worth it. Unless you plan on spending 200 for the shocks and then 700 to get them revalved and resprung. So thats 900 all together.

i have a pair of Works Triple Rate with rezzies for sale. they have only 1 ride on them. Much better than 450r shocks. selling for 360 shipped. Or best offer. Valved for MX; 160 - 200 pounds.

I am also selling a revalved 450r rear shock. Much better than stock rear shock. Only 1 ride on them Selling for 150 shipped or best offer. Valved for MX; 180-200 pounds.

PM me let me know if you want them.

This $700 would be for ALL shocks, including the rear.

If your looking to the fronts only, it would be about half $350-$400.....

I have a set of C&D 450R rebuilds on my 400EX and IMO they are a very good shock for the money.

Definitely get the 450R front shocks and keep your stock rear shock. On my 400ex, I got my 2007 450R front shocks brand new for $225.00 shipped off of eBay, and if I ever wanted to do motocross, I can get new springs and have them re-valved by Works for about $300.00 to $350.00. I've heard from guys that do motocross that they will handle almost like Elkas. The stock rear shock is adjustable and all I would do for motocross is get a new Eibach spring and maybe re-valve them. It won't be as good as maybe a Elka rear shock would be, but I've heard from people that have them that they are close. 450R front shocks can be even cheaper on eBay if you don't mind them being used.
