drain the colent(SP?) for a 05 450r??

There is a drain bolt in the water pump housing. It is twords the bottom of the pump and it is the only bolt on the pump housing that has a sealing washer on it. Once you take the bolt out the coolant will just trickle out. When you open the radiator cap it will come out like someone turned on a hose.

On the right side of the engine where the black radiator hose connects. That is the water pump housing.

On the lower part of that housing there is an 8mm bolt with a copper washer around it. (There are other 8mm bolts in the housing but its the only one with a copper washer on it).

Remove that 8mm bolt with the copper washer on it. (No coolant will drain out as long as the radiator cap is on).

Now SLOWLY remove the radiator cap. If you just pull the cap right off coolant will shoot like 3feet from the bike where you removed the 8mm bolt and cover your nerf bars =)

Of course don't forget to have a catch pan under the bike before you start.

To drain the over flow bottle pull off one end of the small black hose that is connected to the radiator under it's cap. And let it drain into ur pan/bottle.
