neutral problems

i have a 2001 400ex and when i slow down and stop and try to shift into first gear to put it in neutral it doesnt want to go into neutral? i either cant shift at all or it goes into second. any ideas?

mine is also a little bit of a chor to find newtrel so usalyy ill shut it off in gear becuz it a big pain in the @ss

yeha thats what iv been doing but then other people ride me quad and are all like confused by it and stuff. so i just want to fix it. idont know much about clutches though.

It is just hard no matter what, its only a half a click up and there realy isnt much need for neutral my 400ex is that way so is my dad kfx400

mine was kinda hard too but now i am riding it in the wet conditions its alot easyer idk ???

my 05 has always been easy to get to neutral..? I never even think about it, it just kinda goes in.

well i went to the clutch adjustment on the side of the engine, and tightened it up all the way and it works fine now. who woulda thought it was just a simple adjustment. i was about to go buy new disks and stuff.
