Caliper and Brake Pad Question

Rebuilding the caliper - there was a little thin metal washer that I didn't know where to put it. Anybody know?

Anybody have a clearance issue with brake pads? Calipers arent blead, but there is a lot of room on the piston side of the caliper-- the brake pad is sitting tight on the rotor on the outside-facing pads. Anybody know whats up?

Not sure about the washer but after you pump the brake the caliper will center itself.

How will the caliper center itself if the outer pad is tight against the caliper housing

AND

fairly tight against the rotor.

= it can't go the direction it needs to get more free room.

Also the caliper is bolted to the spindle.

It should kind of "float". It wont move side to side at all?

I'll post a pic. Maybe the caliper mounting bracket will move a little with respect to the caliper, thus allowing the pad to loosen a little on the rotor??
